Location
Oxon Park Farm
A four day camping retreat for community leaders, social change makers, artists, activists, movers and shakers, carers and sharers. Time to pause, play, potter, pray.
Time to top up your pleasure quotient, to pause together in this beautiful Devon location teeming with life.
We live (you may have heard this before) in troubled times. You probably spend your days trying to be of service in the world, to respond to the climate and ecological, societal, cultural and mental health crises we find ourselves part of.
To meet the troubles, we need to tend to our tendernesses, cultivate our curiosity and creativity, pause enough to become intimate again with the sensuous world. We need to let the receptive organ of our body surrender to the ground a little more so that our innate playfulness, responsiveness and fire can arise with more vitality. With so much going on, we need to develop both reverence and irreverence!
Hosted by Toni Spencer of ‘the pause’ and Jo Clark and Tina Sharman of On The Hill, all three of whom know profoundly the importance of pausing, playing, pottering and finding shared and non-denominational ways of praying. Each brings very different offerings to the space, providing a rich and welcoming sense of coming home.
About The Event: scheduled and open sessions will include embodiment and presence practices, creative invitations, breathwork, slow farming, beauty making, play time, poet-ing, fires under the stars, wild river swimming, fancy dress, crafts and plenty of time to follow your own pleasure at your own pace. ‘the pause’ is counter to the culture that has driven us to the brink of extinction. It is an invitation for everyday magic to unfold.
The Fee: is on a sliding scale from £500 to £300 (with potential to pay more to stay in on-site caravans) including camping ground and facilities, catering, firewood and the finest facilitation in town. Over 18s only.

About the Facilitators
Toni (founder of ‘the pause’) is a facilitator and artist who works with body, presence, play and provocation to invite more intimacy with both the troubles and the beauty of the world. ‘the pause’ is a project advocating for receptivity and reciprocity. Working across issues of social, ecological and soulful concern, she weaves threads and practices of Deep Adaptation, Process Work, Deep Ecology, Embodiment and creativity into much of her facilitation – working from a place of receptivity and response to what’s emerging. She’s a poet, activist, forager and a Curator with The Emergence Network.
Jo and Tina are founders of On The Hill, a land-based learning project supporting young people and others to find their connection with nature – inner and outer, on a beautiful 50+ acre farm in Devon.
With a big glorious hill. They are also co-founders of the stunningly ridiculous Waiting Room, an interactive theatre experience at Shambala Festival.
Tina is a breathwork facilitator, potter and weaver, and co-leads the Embercombe programmes the Journey and the Descent.
Jo is a farmer and land-based educator through and through, formerly Head of Land based learning at Embercome. Now, alongside much multitasking at the farm, he is embarking on a ten year apprenticeship into Elderhood.
