Join Eden Project Communities for a lunchtime webinar, on Friday 7th November 12-1pm, to explore the findings from an independent evaluation of The Big Lunch and our wider communities programme by the Belong Network, showing how these initiatives bring people together and help:

• Reduce loneliness and isolation;
• Build stronger, more resilient communities;
• Strengthen local connections and encourage civic participation;
• Inspire positive environmental and social action.

Since 2009, Eden Project has brought neighbours together annually in June with The Big Lunch to share friendship, food and fun – with 10.5 million people taking part in street parties and community events in 2025 alone.

This session will reflect on 15 years of National Lottery Funding (2010-24) and provide an evidence base for what works – highlighting the adaptability, flexibility and far-reaching benefits of The Big Lunch in helping communities thrive socially, economically and environmentally.

Hear from Professor Dominic Abrams, who wrote the foreword to the report, and Lindsey Brummitt, the Programme Director, alongside community speakers sharing real-world examples of impact.

Whether you work in local government, housing or community development, this session offers valuable insights and inspiration to help you support and strengthen communities. Bring your lunch and your questions for the Q&A chat box.

Please share with your colleagues and networks, too.

ABOUT EDEN PROJECT
Our mission is to bring people together and explore the power of community to shape a brighter future for people and the planet.  We have a vision of a world full of happier and healthier communities where people know one another and neighbourhoods thrive.
Why?
To tackle the greatest issues facing humanity, we need strong and resilient communities, yet societies are becoming increasingly fragmented.  Based on the belief that we are better equipped to tackle challenges when we face them together we are building social capital for our collective future.Our work with communities helps us give people a sense of agency so that everyone can get involved and feel like they belong in their community, wherever they live.
